THE MEMORY-EATER

This past summer, Nicole spent a lot of time at the Big Nazo Lab in Providence. Under the guidance of Erminio Pinque, the inventor of this sculpture method, she created the foam bodies for the big and small Pet puppets. We are forever thankful to Big Nazo for their inspiration, and their support of our endeavors to adapt this method to our own creative projects!

Mini Pet is a hand puppet. Here he is mid-sculpting, in his raw foam state.

Nicole seals Big Pet's foam with a few layers of liquid latex. This slows the deterioration of the foam, makes the puppet more durable, and helps the foam keep its shape. Big Pet will be a wearable puppet that will transform the puppeteer's entire body into a new character.
